Colon Hydrotherapy

with Jennifer Woods, I-ACT

Colon Hydrotherapy is a natural healing process that cleanses the entire large intestine. Intestinal cleansing is a therapeutic measure that helps to address the source of toxicity and thus dilutes the toxic load on the colon and liver.

This therapy is effective for alleviating many ailments such as skin conditions, fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, digestive discomfort, headaches, low back pain, breath and body odors, candida/yeast and assimilation of nutrients. Although it is much more gentle than an enema, it is many times more effective because it covers the entire colon.

The process entails infusing UV purified, filtered water into the colon through a disposable speculum inserted into the rectum. Temperature- and pressure-regulated water is gently introduced into the colon to cleanse the entire large intestine from rectum to cecum. This stimulates the colon to release toxic matter that has built up on the muscular walls. The natural healing procedure not only removes feces, retained gas and mucus, parasites and infectious material, but increases tone, absorption of nutrients, and peristaltic action.

Periodic colon cleansing minimizes the exposure of the colon walls to potential carcinogens, dilutes the toxin concentration in the large intestine, and stimulates the detoxification of other internal systems. The load on the portal (liver) and lymphatic systems is reduced, allowing the eliminative organs of the body (skin, lymph, lungs, kidneys, and bowels) to equalize the removal of such toxins with their production rate. When a breakdown in one or more of these systems occurs, the potential for disease and auto-intoxication exists. It is important to keep the colon clear to minimize the possibility of more serious problems, such as diverticulitis, colitis, and cancer.

Jen brings Compassion, Health, and Inspiration to her natural healing practice in a very supportive environment. She studied Colon Hydrotherapy at The Dotolo Institute, and is currently pursuing “Instructor” status with The International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT). While studying pre-med at McGill University, she assisted in her father’s proctology/gastroenterology office in upstate New York.

Working on the abdominal area, stimulating acupressure points or using foot reflexology, Jen  guides you every step of the way through this gentle, natural healing process. She understands the emotional language that the abdomen speaks, and she encourages the individual to address the “non-physical” sources of the problem. You’ll leave her office lighter, in body and in spirit.

Jennifer is an independent practitioner not in the employ of the Adawehi Healing Center.
